Washing Instructions
The Do's
- Hand wash with cold water for best results.
- Use mild, liquid detergent or baby shampoo.
- Wash light and dark colors separately.
- For machine wash, use a laundry net and set to "Delicate" cycle.
The Don'ts
- Never use bleach or harsh chemicals.
- Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric harshly.
- Do not soak silk or dark-colored hijabs for too long.
- Avoid brushing the fabric to prevent pilling.
Drying & Ironing
Drying: Never tumble dry your hijabs as the heat can damage the delicate fibers and cause shrinkage. Instead, gently squeeze out excess water and lay the hijab flat on a clean towel, or hang it out of direct sunlight to air dry. Direct sunlight can fade the vibrant colors over time.
Ironing:
- Silk & Satin: Iron on the lowest heat setting while slightly damp, preferably on the reverse side.
- Voal & Paris: Use medium heat. Steam irons work best for removing stubborn creases.
- Jersey & Crinkle: Generally do not require ironing. If needed, use a steamer instead of a direct flat iron to maintain the texture.
Storage Instructions
- •
Fold or Roll: For square hijabs (voal, paris), folding them neatly into squares is ideal. For pashminas and jerseys, rolling them gently prevents deep crease lines.
- •
Hanging: Use specialized hijab hangers with smooth edges. Avoid wire hangers as they can snag delicate fabrics and create "shoulder bumps."
- •
Environment: Store your collection in a cool, dry place. Using silica gel packets in your drawer can help prevent moisture buildup and musty odors.
